EWG’s 2014 List of Top-Rated Sunscreens

bigstock-sunblock-creams-15600704Want help choosing the best sunscreen?

Last week, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) released its list of Top-Rated Sunscreens.  You can find it here.

EWG also recommends avoiding spray sunscreens due to risks from inhaling them, avoiding sunscreens with oxybenzone because it can act like an estrogen after it is absorbed through your skin, avoiding retinyl palmitate because it can speed up skin lesion and tumor growth, and avoiding combination bug repellant/sunscreens and sunscreen towelettes and powders because they can be less effective.  You can find EWG’s full list of what products to avoid and why here.
